Like Social Media? Try Klout Perks

This week in the mail, I got an $18 bottle of wine, that usually has $11 shipping, for just $4.95.  Why? Well, I received a $25 gift card to an online wine shop, just for having a high Klout score.

Klout measures your influencer score, based on how active you are on Facebook and Twitter, and other social networks. It tells you who you influence, as well as what subjects you are influential about.

While I uncovered Klout over a year ago, what really has me jazzed up about the site is a new section called Klout Perks, where companies from Subway to Score Big are giving away free samples and credits to influencers.   I walked away with a $25 credit to Score Big as well as $25 to One Hope Wine – not too bad for just tweeting daily or so for the past two years!

If you are always tweeting or on Facebook, consider using Klout to find out your score.  And don’t worry if your score is a little low – the more you interact with Klout and sync social networks, the more your score can go up.  Let us know if you get any cool perks!

Hi, thanks for this article but I still don’t really understand clout perks. What else can I do to earn them? I received two tweets saying that I earned perks but when I clicked on the links I was told that they had expired. Thanks!

    Hey Dan,

It really all depends the subjects you are influential about. Some say you’ll get the perk only if you are influential about certain topics others you can get if your Klout level is above a certain number. They just say to tweet more in order to get the perks!
