I was recently contacted about reviewing a handbag for a new discount handbag site, BagLuxe.com. When choosing the bag to review I went way out on a limb and chose a white bag, The Classic Spy Bag. Would you believe me if I told you that I’ve NEVER owned a white handbag? Sad but true. That situation is now remedied.

The Classic Spy Bag

The Classic Spy Bag

I’m including both of these images in a row because I think the true color lies somewhere between the photo on the website and the photo I took on my front porch. The white is not a blinding snow-colored white by any means. As far as whites go, it’s pretty muted. This is definitely a plus in my book. The reason I normally shy away from anything white is because I’m prone to spills and getting things dirty. The less white it is the less noticeable those things are. :)

The Classic Spy Bag

One of my favorite things about the bag is this ultra secret compartment in the flap of the purse. It took me a full two days of carrying it before I realized it was there. The little woven knob at the end of the clasp is also a hidden compartment! I think this is so cool and explains why this is called a spy bag.

The Classic Spy Bag is exactly what a designer-inspired handbag should be. You cannot look at this bag and immediately tell it’s not real leather. It looks and feels like leather. This bag also has some weight and substance to it, which makes it seem more expensive than it actually is. The woven elements are a nice touch and give this bag a bit of a Bottega Veneta feel.

I don’t think you can look at The Classic Spy Bag and tell it costs only $49.95. Well, until you open the bag that is.

The inside of the bag looks like most inexpensive handbags. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It is what it is. Luckily, most people don’t go around staring INTO people’s handbags.

Let’s talk about the price again. This bag only costs $49.95. Truthfully, when BagLuxe.com sent me the bag I was not expecting what I received. I was expecting a bag that looked and felt cheap, but instead I got a bag that’s luxurious and fun.

Gosh, there are SO many bags to choose from on their site that for now I’m going to make my own life easier and just say the spy bag… but I reserve the right to change my mind later 😀

I would choose the gift card! (Though the spy bag is awesome)

I would choose the gift card – but ONLY because summer is almost over and I’d rather not get a white bag now.
